I hope you have been able to get some time in for a swing over the last month or so. The weather has been really nice here in Queensland and I have been stuck doing book work and tax crap. So if your looking out the window wishing you where out there then I feel for ya.
Firstly a PRODUCT WARNING:
The popular after market waterproof case for the Deus remote (Acrya WS8) I believe, It is the one in the Pommy down under video and has a soft front, is causing some problems.
By sticking the small clip onto the case and mounting it to the shaft you may have your deus shaft clip break due to the excess weight. The Deus remote is 90 grams and the case in question is 160 grams. Together it is well over what the clip was designed to handle and eventually it will break.
I recommend NOT Attaching the case to the shaft and instead use the neck strap or carry it in your off hand when your using that case.
I too own the case and have NOT attached it, so was unaware this could be an issue until I had 4 breakages in 1 week. All where using the case mentioned.
The remedy is that I will replace the clip if you pay the postage. This is if the clip breaks as a result of using the Acrya case. Only available for the next 30 days and I’ll photo’s of the breaks for the R & D department to take a look at. Please get in touch if your affected.
XP Have supported us in this one and given me a few clips for those affected. I’ll be in touch when they arrive.
While we are on the bad news section: The Deus hard case is proving to be a tricky beast to get here in Australia. I am working on getting the cases over here but it will be a month at least until we see them. More like 2 if I am honest. The problem is simply shipping, due to their size they cost a lot to ship and I don’t want to have to charge $500 each for them. I wouldn’t pay that so I don’t expect my customers to.
I have 6 Deus units in stock that where packed into Hard cases from the factory in my last order. I can supply in every variant and send to you in the hard case ready to go.
There are a few deals getting done on these, Factory Hard case packed, Units. Please get in touch if your looking at a Deus and we can discuss your options and put together a good value deal for you.
The 13 Inch coil:
13 Inch coils will be here in about 1-2 weeks, These have previously NOT been available due to the production run being put back. Just had it confirmed that I will have 2 x 13 inch coils arriving soon.
I have made them available in the store, but please remember they are still incoming and Delivery is by the 30th July at the latest.
Warranty and Service:
The warranty process and how to make a claim has been updated. As an XP Deus owner you can expect the best aftersales service and because your dealing directly with the distributor I can get things sorted FAST.
The link above has the updated Information, it is a simple process and the goal is to get you back detecting FAST!
XP Deus Version 4 and the Pin Pointer:
As of today there is no real information to add to the rumour mill. It has been confirmed that and end of summer – End of year window has been opened for the release but no more details have been provided.
What I can tell you is that the Version 4 Update seems to be aimed squarely at the prospecting and gold search market. The new coil will be an optional accessory and will allow you to access new frequencies previously not available.
As far as how the XP Deus will sell on a retail level, It is my form belief that the language used suggests that the XP will continue to be sold in it’s current form but with the version 4 software factory loaded. It will then be the end users decision to buy the extra coil and unlock the features if they wish to enhance the prospecting side of the XP Deus.
It is and will remain one of the TOP Coin and relic machines on the market and to be honest higher frequencies will not really help us coin shooters much at all. The best frequencies for hitting silver and copper coins are 4 & 8 Khz in my opinion, especially if your chasing depth.
So for those that are primarily coin shooters the XP Deus in it’s current V3.2 form is still one of the best performing coin and relic machines on the market. the Version 4 upgrades and optional accessories will allow the casual gold detectorist to vastly improve their chances while using the deus. I suspect there will be some major benefits to the WET SAND crew as a nice little side bonus.
There is a Major XP Only Rally in Oxfordshire, UK in September. We are talking Upto and maybe over 1,000 XP users in a paddock. The event is sponsored by XP and there are a HUGE swag of prizes being given away. Including the PIN POINTER!
So Hopefully in September we will see the pin pointer and get some firmer information about the Version 4 upgrade. As soon at is released I will be going to the Clermont gold fields to test it and then down to Victoria and NSW.
I’ll Keep you posted……Please note the above is only my opinion and not a Factory backed announcement.
HUGE News this month as Detectorist.com.au becomes the Exclusive Distributor for RNB Innovations Battery packs in Australia.
For those unfamiliar with RNB they make Lithium-Ion Rechargeable battery packs for some common detectors from Minelab, Garrett and Whites.
These batteries are proving to be far superior to the factory supplied units and provide longer detecting time and more consistent power release, meaning your detector is running at its best more often.
In the case of the Garrett AT Pro and AT Gold, the battery pack takes the place of AA Batteries and in the long run will save you money and again ensure your AT is running at its best. These are a high quality item and come with their own smart charger.
Currently the AT Power plus is in Stock, the Minelab and Whites range is incoming soon as I assess demand. So if you have been wanting an RNB Battery pack but couldn’t get one, get in touch and I’ll make sure your battery is in the next order.
The AT pro and AT Gold Power plus Battery at the store.
That about wraps up the News for July So Far.
Remember I have a limited Number of Factory packed Deus units in Hard cases, there are also some at LOST TREASURES in Brisbane and Goanna Gold Detectors in Greta NSW. Justin Millman at Lost treasures and Bob and Judy at Goanna Gold will be happy to look after you so get in touch with any of us if you would like to take advantage of a hard case deal.

Have a great Month and Happy Hunting to you all.
Oh Yeah, just before I go, BIG shout outs to JP at Clermont. Was out there last week for a few days swinging the Deus in the gold fields and was great to meet the big Fella and his wife. Great Little shop and he probably has whatever part you need if something goes pear shaped while you on your way north.
Thanks JP See you again soon once the season ends and we can have a swing.
I must say that Detecting shop owners seem to be the ones that love the hobby the most but get to detect the least, I feel sorry for every one of them and ask you to support your local dealer no matter what brands they are selling. If you can buy it locally, please do. You’ll only notice the shop is gone when you need something and it would be a shame to loose any more members of our dealer community.
How else will we learn to use Bloody Things??? LOL
O.k I’ll go now, Take care.
