But more than that XP Have created what can only be described as a GENIUS Model for detectorists to transition from Beginner to Intermediate and onto the purist or fanatical levels, depending on how you look at it. OK I had a customer contact me, he was in a spin on whether to buy an ORX or an XP Deus?
New to detecting he is a gold guy that will do a bit of coin shooting when he can’t get out bush just to keep in the swing of things. In my mind I was thinking about 75% gold 25% coins.
This was when it hit me, Take a look at the plan below, WITH Prices and you’ll probably see what I mean.
It doesn’t matter what way you come into XP Metal Detectors as you won’t be penalised financially by coming in at the entry level and progressing up the tree from there.

The Plan:
Enter at ORX with elliptical coil, this will give you a grounding on XP Products and be able to perform on gold Extremely Well and will hold its own on coins as well. In fact its a bit of a weapon.
21 frequencies from 13-81Khz covers everything you need.
The ORX is simple to use, yet powerful and fast. It gives you an Introduction to the XP metal Detector and wireless detecting. The ORX is perfect for beginners or for those coming from entry level detectors looking for a bit more without going TOP of the Range.
Once your comfortable with that ORX setup then look at the 11 Inch BLACK X35 coil. (Suggested size to compliment the elliptical, But you can choose any of the 3 X35 Coils.) It will plumb into the ORX in 3 seconds and it will open up a whole new range of Fun and Finds.
Better depth in less mineralised soil and Its a KILLER coin and beach coil. Also Opens Up the Lower frequencies, 35 of them, between 3.7Khz and 27.7Khz.
After about a year or so, Maybe longer Maybe less, Depends on YOU.
Then start looking at the Deus REMOTE. That will integrate with the coils that you have and just clip straight onto the ORX shaft as well.
Its a seamless process and it will feel like the ORX just you’ll have a bag load of toys to play with.

$549 for the 11 Inch Black coil in the future.
$999 for just the deus Remote on its own when your super
comfy with the ORX and the 2 coils.

$99 Bucks difference in price in total Investment so your
not over paying to run the upgrade cycle rather than jump straight to the top.
It also spreads the total cost over time and in a lot of cases the $2 coins
will pick up some or all of the upgrade costs for you.

You see to go from ORX to Deus all you need is the remote control! Thats It!
You don’t need to buy a whole new kit, the 2 coils you’ll have if you stick to the plan and the shaft all fit the Deus perfectly. In Fact I prefer the ORX shaft to the Deus One! LOL
The other advantage to running the cycle is that at the end you have 2 metal detectors. 1 x ORX with eliptical coil and an XP Deus with an 11 inch coil.
You can then lend one to someone, take the Missus and or the kids or just keep the spare remote on hand for emergencies.
Also when you do make the leap to the deus its NOT Weird or foreign. EVERYTHING you learnt on the ORX transfers to the Deus, even the TID Numbers are the same! Its just unbelievable seamless and allows you to grow at a consistent pace rather than take 3 steps back every upgrade while you LEARN the new machine.
SHOW ME any other metal detector company in the world that provides such a seamless process to grow your detecting capabilities over time and at your pace. While NOT penalising you for buying in at the entry level.
NO Detector to SELL before you can upgrade,
NO making the last machine OBSOLETE when the new one comes out!
It all fits together like a glove, Even the Mi6 pin Pointer will work with both the ORX and the Deus so you don’t even need to change that!
Combine all that with a 5 year warranty and quite frankly I think you have the best VALUE proposition in the Australian metal detecting scene.
Seriously if your not looking at XP metal detectors then your probably gonna pay a lot of money in the future to keep uo with the cionstant releases from other brands. each one requiring you to get rid of your old gear.

How good are they in highly minimised ground as we have in Victoria. My ratio is 90 percent gold 10 percent coin at the moment. Thanks Jeff
Jeff they will do alright in Most Of Victoria. Elliptical coil and maybe the black one down the track but for 10% coin I just use the elliptical that you’ve got. The one button ground balance makes it easy to keep balanced. I have found hundreds of targets in Victoria about 99% bullets. LOL
Clergy the problem I have is I live in Bendigo Central Victoria. We have iron stone ( hot rocks) every where. We mainly detect around whip stick Inglewood, Maryborough areas. I currently have a QED which I am having trouble getting my head around. Xp dues appeals to me because of the weight. I have a bad back. So in saying all that I need a light weight detector that’s easy to use and can handle central Victoria conditions. What’s the answer. Thanks Jeff.
Hi Jeff,
Hearing your pain mate. I have used the deus a fair bit Around Dunolly, Tarnagulla, Wedderburn and a few places in between. It handles all those places with the exception of one or 2 spots in Wedderburn that I struggled with.
Once you get a bead on the hotrocks they are easy to avoid and I find it doesn’t ping on them at depth. So No 10 Inch holes to dig a rock out. It can be chirpy but if kept balance targets stand out very clearly. I have dug a total of 5 pieces of Gold in VIC with the Deus for a total of about half a gram, I have also dug about 350 Bullets, Mostly shotgun pellets and a few cool coins and relics.
Advantage of Deus is that it gives up iron pretty easy, weighs pretty close to nothing and is easy to keep balanced. Maybe look at the ORX and then step up, but if your a gold guy I would suggest the ORX is all you need to compliment your QED.
ORX to get the shallow stuff out of the way and then the QED to get the deeper stuff after the clean up.
